Well I’d say that the first block of interval workouts is always the hardest, but honestly I’ve never really done interval training in the past, so I can’t really say. Why no intervals, you might ask? Well, intervals are tough and I never really liked them much. This year I’m manning up and doing the intervals! The first block was tough, but I faired better than expected. Hopefully this means that the workouts to come will go equally as well.

Yesterday we actually got .9 inches of rain. This ended the 130 odd day drought. It was also the first ride I’ve done this season without seeing the sun. It brought back memories of my seasonal mood disorder. Not really, but the sunshine does positively affect my mood. The rain had let up by the time I rode, but the streets were still a bit wet and sand covered. The views are still nice, even with a bit of gloom in the sky.

Wet, sandy roads made a bike wash necessary. Nothing beats the glisten of freshly laundered Litespeed titanium! I’ve been on the Siena for a month now and it rides better everyday. The first stage race is just three weeks away. The thought of a new season is exciting and keeps me going everyday. Keep it real, -TJ
